Born and grow up here in sub-urban of Klang Valley, I had never seen paddy field. I always wanted to see a real paddy field. I grew up with books with paddy field in it. And I got to see paddy field for the first time in my life when I was in form 2. I, with my youngest bro, faizal chaperoned our sister go for a date with her now-husband bf and his brother.
We went to Bukit Cherakah which later named Tmn Pertanian Bukit Cahaya Sri Alam. I fell in love with the place which I kept going there for a number of times afterward. Not so many time though since I didn't have transport and during that time my father was so busy with the shop that we could only go out once in a year. My second trip there was with my friends in 1992. The first trip with friends was a celebration of freedom from SRP. There were at least 10 people in the trip. It was a trip of lifetime with my high school friends because after that everybody went on different schools.
There are two parts of Bukit CSA. And usually u can either finish only one part in a day. U have to take either left path or right path. I remember that left part goes to Tmn Herba, Danau perikanan, Empangan Sungai Baru and right path goes to Jambatan gantung, Tmn burung, Rumah 4 musim, Tmn Sari or sthg that has menara. And the paddy field is at the entrance with kolam ikan. The first time I came, the paddy field was in the membajak stage, the second time it was in its golden harvesting stage. And the third time was in green stage. The last time I went was last year or in 2003, the paddy field was no longer growing up.
U can rent a bike, walk or take a bus ride there. The workshop that my brothers work with has a tender to repair all Bukit CSA vehicle. My brother has good relationship with the personnel there that we got to take our car into the park. We got to enter the 4 seasonhouse for free too. But the last time we went there, we couldnt go to Empangan Sungai Air Baru anymore, in fact many places had been closed. I wonder if the Kampung Orang Asli is still there. Coz last time, it was also an attraction there.
Nway, I juz wanna say that the place was so beautiful and full of knowledge. I juz wanna say that it is so frustating to see what happened to the place now. Terukkan what they do with the nature nowadays. I don't look far away, even in my area of resident the construction keeps on growing. The road got 'berdebu' and cars was covered with dirts. The road become hot too since all the trees were chopped down. There are more smoke in the sky and pollute the air. Driving is not as safe as before too coz now we have to share (not share, we have to give way) to lori-lori hantu carrying construction material. And then, one thing that I hate so much, these construction developers were so selfish, they built traffic lights at any place that they like. And now, smooth driving has turn into slow driving with stop at many place. So, who is the culprit behind all these?
